Oh, It's Green!

Just because the sky is cloudy, the green field does not change into a brown field.
A critique does not equal your value; rather, it shows the great potential you have within yourself.

Having super low self-esteem is a huge obstacle I have to face daily. I am so used to seeing myself as not capable of finishing things greatly, while success is not always the finish line we aim for. Sometimes, just finishing is enough.

I love being appreciated, I love being complimented, but at the same time, I do not think the people who tell me so genuinely mean it. What if they are just being kind? Oh well, even if they are, what is wrong with that? Do you like being underestimated that much?

Even a critique, no matter how positive the tone is, always sounds like a new reason to give up, to feel worthless, to feel like it is time to go. Will I ever reach that place? Don't you think giving up would save so much of yourself? From embarrassment, from another heartbreak?

Especially when you keep witnessing people around you achieving their dreams. You wish to be in their position, you wish so badly that somehow, you cannot even see yourself there. A dream slowly turns into a loss of hope. Somehow, you see your future become so blurry that it is dark. Is there even a place for me in the future? Am I enough?

But hey, you just have not seen it close enough!
Similar to when it is raining heavily during your road trip, trees along the street may look dark and scary, but in fact, they are not. All leaves stay green, even in the rainy season.
A failure does not determine your worth; rather, it can determine your next step.
When a leaf falls, another one will grow, although on another branch.

And so are you.

Your future is green. The path is just a little cloudy right now, but you are going to make it there.
